Fertile Soil

Fertile Soil is a comprehensive disciple-making project designed specifically for Haitian Christians and churches. It teaches the essential principles and practices to begin a new life with Jesus.

Fertile Soil is suitable for private study, small groups, and church-wide training programs. New Christians will discover life-changing guidance to start a life of faithful devotion to Jesus Christ while growing Christians will strengthen their faith by developing a deeper understanding of God’s truths and encouragement to help others. Pastors will be equipped with a tool to launch a disciple-making ministry in their churches.

ISA launched Fertile Soil into Haitian churches in June. New training teams, videos, podcasts, and an app are in the works.

Fertile Soil is dedicated to the legacy of Gregg Shaffer, a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. On February 1, 2020, Gregg went to his eternal home after more than 50 years of ministry that began in 1975 on university campuses with Campus Crusade for Christ. Internationally, Gregg served in Haiti, Guam, and Micronesia. His example and guidance inspired his friend and protégé, Michael VanHook, to found International Strategic Alliances. Gregg’s vision was to build multiplying disciples who would reach the world for Christ. Diane, Gregg’s devoted wife of 35 years, and their three daughters, Elly, Heidi, and Erynne, hope these lessons will be taught to succeeding generations so that his lifelong passion for spiritual multiplication will continue to have an impact on reaching the world for Christ.
