“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-13).
In 2022, ISA entered into a new covenant partnership with Pastor Ysaac Deshommes and his church in Pignon. This covenant relationship opens the door for us to develop a "regional disciple-making center" in the central plateau.
Ysaac started the church after visiting the heaviest Vodou-influenced area of the region. He sat down with people and asked them simple, yet penetrating questions. This led to massive conversions.
Pastor Ysaac's church has over 350 members and a satellite church in Port-de-Paix. In 2022, the fragile walls of the church collapsed, forcing the people to meet outside when weather permitted. ISA has been renting space until a permanent solution is found. We have also supported their outreach to the community during this period of severe hunger and deprivation.
LOVING THE "POOREST OF THE POOR"
BUILDING DISCIPLES
In a church of over 350 members, fewer than 50 owned a Bible in a language that they could read. ISA's FEED A SOUL Project supplied over 200 Bibles to families in their native Haitian Creole dialect.
Pastor Ysaac had never led a Bible study. So, we are training him and other leaders. Now, they are meeting regularly and opening the power of God's Word for themselves.
