“Sak vid pa kanp. / An empty sack can't stand up.” -Haitian proverb
The 2010 earthquake was a game-changer. When the capital city of Port-au-Prince was ravaged, ISA was contracted by a large disaster relief agency to assist because of our on-the-ground knowledge of the country. ISA directors David Michel, Keryl Morgan, and Michael VanHook arrived in the earthquake zone a few days after the disaster to assess the situation. They performed their task but also carried out other acts of humanitarian service.
David and Michael continued to serve for a year-and-a-half providing compassionate aid and support to the victims. Every dollar received by ISA for earthquake relief was immediately distributed directly to suffering individuals and ministries.
We are humbled and honored to have been a part of this mammoth effort at this moment in human history.
